GPC8™ is a glutaraldehyde-based general purpose acid disinfectant. Active in the presence of organic matter.

The science behind GPC8™

GPC8™ contains glutaraldehyde together with a twin-chain quaternary ammonium (quat) which are significantly more efficient than single-chain quats, meaning less product is required to achieve strong disinfection performance.

Another key advantage of GPC8™ is the inclusion of surfactants. These help the disinfectant penetrate soiling and wet surfaces more effectively, improving overall coverage. Even after foam cleaning, it is widely accepted that around 60% of bacteria may be removed, meaning some contamination can still remain. Having a disinfectant that continues to perform well in the presence of residual soiling is therefore essential.

GPC8™ also contains phosphoric acid, which helps remove mineral deposits from surfaces while supporting the protection of metal equipment. This can make a significant difference in environments where mineral build-up and corrosion are ongoing challenges.
