Sea to Summit's Lightweight Dry Bag in bluesign-approved recycled 70D nylon - soft and pliable rather than stiff, so it packs into odd spaces inside a pack and keeps a sleeping bag or clothes dry without adding much weight.

What it keeps dry, and how dry

The everyday dry bag, and the most versatile thing Sea to Summit make - soft, pliable and light enough that you own several. The hypalon non-wicking roll-top is the same closure as their heavy-duty sacks, so rain, spray and a wet pack interior all stay outside your sleeping bag.

Non-wicking is the part that earns its keep: ordinary fabric draws water along the seal by capillary action even when rolled correctly, which is how gear gets damp in a bag that never got dunked.

Capacity and what fits

Seven sizes, 1.5 L to 35 L. The 1.5 L at 19 x 14.1 x 10.7 cm takes a phone, wallet and documents; the 3 L takes a first aid kit; the 35 L at 55.6 x 31.5 x 28.8 cm swallows a sleeping bag.

Buy them in different colours on purpose - colour-coded packing is the difference between knowing where your warm layer is and unpacking three bags in the rain to find it.

Material and durability

The face fabric is recycled 70D nylon, bluesign approved, with a fluorine-free C0 DWR - both the harder environmental choice. The interior polyurethane coating is white rather than black, which sounds cosmetic and is not: finding a small dark object by head torch in a black-lined bag is genuinely irritating.

Packing and carrying

A D-ring at the buckle clips into a boat, a harness or the inside of a pack, and the oval base stops it rolling away the moment you put it down on a slope. Anything made after 2024 works with the Dry Bag Sling. Also available in View (clear window) and First Aid versions.
